Internship

The German-Ghanaian Friendship Association offers young adults the opportunity to complete an internship of between six and twelve months at the German Ghanaian International School and other cooperation institutions in Ghana. In recent years, many young Germans have already taken advantage of this opportunity to immerse themselves in another culture that is foreign to them.

What options are available
Together with our partners in Ghana, we offer various internships in Ghana. You will gain an insight into the world of Africa and Ghana, into the culture and customs of a “different world”. Far away from tourist routes, you will get to know the real Africa through your daily contact with people in their living and working environment.

As a high school graduate or student, you will primarily support the theoretical training at the Ghanaian German School in Denchemouso. The focus of the internship is on language and mathematics in particular, where you will help to make up for existing deficits. The students are between 14 and 20 years old and are prepared for their final exams.

Working in the kindergarten in Denchemouso is also suitable for teachers. In a newly constructed building, you will look after four groups aged between one and six years together with the local teachers. The special nature of the Ghanaian school system requires reading and writing to be taught in kindergarten.

However, please understand that this option is only available to a very limited extent due to the time and effort involved.
